sharpei | hi all! in some ways i really like astrology and find it a useful tool but in other ways i find it is too fatalistic and does not chime with my experiences. take for example- venus square saturn- i have this and i feel it somewhat- i dont see it as this terrible thing- just something to be aware of- my father manifests pretty much all the symptoms of this placement yet does not have it and i have another friend with this placement who does not manifest this placement at all- she is super warm, always ALWAYS in a good relationship, genuinely happy and content etc. my sister has venus square moon which is supposed to manifest as difficulties with women which she definitely does not have- whereas i do not have this placement and i definitely have difficulties with women and did not get on half so well with my mother as my sister did. i dont know i guess the way i see it is your chart is like a blue print of potential energy you were born with but some people manage to navigate without showing all the tendencies- be they positive or negative in their chart whereas others really like out their chart, and perhaps people who have tendencies that are not represented in their chart will have that in their chart in their next life? |
PixieJane | Astrology is more potential to me. To make an all too simplistic metaphor it's like a coin that can wind up heads or tails but it still is what it is. (This is one reason why I don't like "everyone with this placement sucks" threads as anyone of any placement may show either virtue or vice depending on which "side of the coin" manifests, and the "heads or tails" manifesting generally comes from environment & free will while the coin with its positive & negative potential comes from astrology.) Another metaphor is seeing which way the winds are blowing and astrology can tell me when to put the sails up and when to take them down and row against the wind instead. |

boom boom boom.... exactly how I feel. especially with the horary charts, they are so ambiguous, how is it true in the first place? I can ask a question now and have one answer and if I ask it 15 minutes later the chart will give a completely different one...boooooo.... so not credible. |
Lonake | not really supposed to ask the same question twice unless the asc degree is too early.... |

but there is some rule: asking 8 months or 6 months later, something like that? of course if you ask in between the first and the second it will keep giving you confusion |

Kerosene | I do believe in astrology and all its fatalism too, life isn't peachy keen and we struggle and feel pain in some way or another. Astrology is like looking in a magical mirror that shows you things you're not even aware of because we function on a subconscious level. If you're aware of the possible negative parts of your life and personality then you'll be least likely to fall into them and even address the issues I was intimated and scared too when I first started studying astrology I guess thats why they say astrology is evil because in a way you're cheating life |

astrology is alot more complicated then just one aspect... you said your sister has moon square venus and doesnt have issues with women, does that mean the interpretations are wrong and astrology is unaccurate? no.... it just means there is probably something else going on in her chart negating the dark side of that aspect somewhat. |

aquaguy91 | example: another poster here (sand) and i both have hard moon/venus,moon/pluto,and pluto/venus aspects . i have lots of issues with women and he doesnt seem to have that many problems with them. so does that mean the interps of those aspects are wrong and its a coincidence that they manifested in my life? no... sand happens to have a venus/jupiter trine ( i think?) that softens the blow of those aspects somewhat.. |
Kerosene | ^Yeah negative aspects can cancel each other out with a positive one. For instance, I have mars square neptune and Uranus but I also mars trine saturn. I'm not a hot mess, I have a lot of self control. Mars square uranus is known for its anger. I do get very angry but control my anger very well. I don't think ever blown up on someone in my life..
